ABOUT US
Mark Suter (Owner and Head Instructor): Mark is a Texas/Louisiana naturalist and primitive wilderness survivalist who has been learning, living, and teaching the old ways of survival for over 30 years now. He teaches folks from all walks of life self-reliance skills at an affordable price at his school called PTL Survival Company! Over the past several years, Mark has also served as a survival consultant for the Discovery Channel, CBS, and the History Channel. When not teaching, he can be found wandering the forests, fields, and swamps of southeast Texas and Louisiana!
Assistant Instructors:
Gary Warrick: Gary is Mark’s right hand man at the school and is a Captain for the Beaumont Fire Department, Texas. He is a long time East Texas outdoorsman and survivalist who has not only been teaching alongside Mark for over a decade, but also adding greatly to the schools curriculum over the years.
We approach survival from doing things from scratch with very simple hand tools (knife, machete/hatchet, saw, axe) and sometimes even stone, bone, and wooden tools. We practice caretaking of natural areas, along with using them for resources, as we are put here on earth to do both.
